HOW TO DETERMINEYOUR BRA SIZE

80% of bra-buyers wear the wrong size bras.

Are you one of them?

Our bra fit quiz and tips will teach you how to find the perfect bra size at home and shop for the best styles to suit your beautiful, unique shape.

We recommend taking bra measurements (and replacing your bras) every six months. Your bust measurement and band size are likely to change with weight flux, age, pregnancy, and other life factors. Wearing the right bra size will improve how your bras look and how you feel while wearing them. If your back or shoulders hurt, your bra sizing is likely the culprit.

You are a queen— settling for a poorly fit bra is not an option.

Measuring yourBRA SIZE

Start by wearing your best-fitting bra (no padded bras or minimizers, please). You may want to ask another person to help you measure or you can stand in front of a mirror and measure yourself.

FIND YOUR BAND SIZE

Hold the tape measure snugly around your ribcage, just below your bust, to get your band measurement. If it’s an odd number, round up to the next even number to determine your band size.

To find your bust measurement, take a loose measurement around the fullest part of your bust.

BRA FIT TIPS

Bra showing comfortable straps

COMFORTABLE STRAPS

Your bra straps should lay flat and stay in place without digging or slipping off your shoulders. If they are too loose, a u-back bra or racerback bra may help. If they are too tight, try one band size down and one cup size up.

Bra showing full cups

FULL CUPS

Cups should hold your breasts without any gaps or spillage, laying flat against your skin. To fill gaps, try going down a cup size. If your breasts spill out, try going up a cup size. If you wear underwire, it should not poke or dig into you.

Bra showing a secure band

SECURE BAND

Your bra band is responsible for most of the support your bra gives you. It’s important that it fits securely, but not too tightly. You should be able to fit a finger between your bra band and your body. If the band digs in while on the loosest hook, try a band size up and cup size down. If it rides up on the tightest hook, try a band size down and cup size up.

BRA SISTER SIZES

When you find the perfect fitting bra, you may discover that the same size in a different brand or style doesn’t fit you. Learning your sister sizes, which are based on cup volume, will enable you to find your best fit no matter the bra style or brand.

To find your sister sizes, either go up a band size and down a cup size OR go down a band size and up a cup size. For example, 36C is sister to 38B & 34D.

Knowing your sister sizes
can help you
perfect your bra fit.

Every bra size has sister sizes. This means that bras can have equal cup capacity even though they may have different band or cup sizes. The rule of thumb is to go up a size in the band number and down a cup size OR down a band size and up a cup size. For example, the sister sizes of a 36C are a 34D or a 38B.
